1:1 Coaching
Dr. Jackson does not just call herself a coach.
She completed the year-long accredited health and wellness coach training program at Vanderbilt University to learn the science and techniques for effective transformational change.
She is board-certified by the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBC-HWC), which sets the standard of care for research and practice related to the field.
She also taught health and wellness coaching to medical students at Meharry Medical College.
So What Is Coaching?
Healing chronic illness means behavioral change, like modifying the way we eat and move, and reducing stress in work and relationships. Yet, although technically within our power, these things often feel impossible to do consistently.
Sustainable change is hard for everyone.
The literature shows:
Behavioral change is more effective and long-lasting when evidence-based, values-aligned, and supported with accountability.
Health coaching has been clearly shown to reduce burnout in health care providers, with peer support being a key.
Health coaching also powerfully improves pain, maladaptive substance use, depression, anxiety, and many other chronic conditions.
Coaching is the foundation for recovery from chronic illness.
Working with me, you’ll learn both the science of the general source AND the science of the individual solution:
The TRUST Pathway™
The TRUST Pathway™
T
Tether
Anchor to your core values and identity — who you are beyond the job title, the productivity metrics, and what everyone else expects. This is the foundation of all.
R
Remove & Reframe
Identify what can be removed and what needs to be reframed. Energy flows goes where attention goes. Language and boundaries matter.
U
Unwind
Create conditions where the nervous system can let go. Building small segments of real safety, so your body unwinds without being forced.
S
Strengthen
Build capacity — psychological, social, financial, practical — so you can sustain change when it gets hard. Sleep, substances, movement, and nutrition are daunting to change without support.
T
Travel
Move in a new direction — not someday, but now. Build a life aligned with your values to inspire and sustain change. Identify your community for support. What could be possible? Curiosity is key.
Medical Care vs. Coaching
Medical Care
Involves a doctor–patient relationship
Includes diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions
May involve prescriptions, medical testing, or procedures
Decisions guided by clinical evaluation and medical records
Medical providers direct treatment plans
Regulated as healthcare under medical licensing laws
Focus is diagnosing and managing disease
Information becomes part of a medical record
Coaching with Relief Retreats
Does not create a doctor–patient relationship
Focuses on personal growth, behavior change, and well-being
Does not involve prescriptions, testing, or medical procedures
Clients explore goals, values, habits, and life direction
Clients remain responsible for their own decisions and actions
Provided as coaching and educational services
Focus is building awareness, resilience, and sustainable change
Coaching conversations are not medical records
Coaching is not a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult your healthcare provider regarding any medical concerns.
